Yamaha Yamaha YAS-200AD Advantage Alto Saxophone Style

Hello, buyers!

Now, I’m sure you want some kind of… foundation on this sax to assure you that it’s a good choice to buy. Well you are lucky I came through! I play the B flat alto sax. Mine is a Yamaha Allegro, gold plated and with clear baked epoxy lacquer. I have been playing for 5 years and am now in my second year of high-school. Trust me. I know a lot.

This instrument is(0-10: O=Wow. Who the heck made this piece of junk? 10=Shoot you had better wan this or else you’re crazy) 8.7

It has a smooth, even tone and plays fairly well. Be sure to check the top spatula key and the top pinky key for jammed up notes. The spatula key is required to play a low G: 123 and spatula key. The spatula keys are under the 3 key and usually have black spinners on them. In this case they do. The top one should be able to be pressed. Trace the location of where it lifts and see if that key under it is lifting also. If it’s not, pull the key up manually and excersise it a bit. Top pinky key is off to the RIGHT of the 4 5 and 6 keys. Press hard on the top one to unjam it. NOTE: THESE KEYS JAM A LOT ON ALL ALTO, TENOR, AND BARITONE SAXES SO DO NOT LET THIS DISENCOURAGE YOU TO BUY THIS.

This sax is a good one, but the dealer may not be that perfect. Look for dents in the sax, make sure the neck matches the body, and look under the black thumb rest. It should say YAS-200 A.D and a number under it. The number is called the SERIAL NUMBER. Also, it’s not a good idea to order since mailmen are experts at messing up the instrument while driving.
